State of Louisiana Vision 20/20 Master Plan - Economic Development Strategy and Action 

Goal: The State of Louisiana Economic Development is under Governor Blanco which is focused on, according to the former Deputy Secretary, three economic initiatives: Business Retention and Expansion, Business Attraction and Recruitment, and Entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital, Clusters, and Technology-Led Economic Development can play a major role for universities.

Measurements: In 2005, Mr. Savoie developed and presented an unsolicited Louisiana Economic Development Action Plan to the Office of Economic Development Deputy Secretary, Dr. Duane Blumberg, for Business Attraction and Recruitment after researching the State of Louisiana Vision 2020 Master Plan and 2005 Action Plan.  

Results:: The Action Plan using Vision 2020 data addressed Concerns, and elimination of States’ Challenges and Barriers, and achievement and proof of the States’ Strengths and Discriminators.
